What actually drives the price
Vehicle first — a European car with larger brakes and electronic parking brake actuators costs more than a common sedan. Parts grade second. Third, condition: a seized caliper or a sheared bleeder adds work that was not visible when you booked. We will show you the photograph before that becomes a bill.
Front and rear are not the same price
Fronts do most of the braking and wear roughly twice as fast, so they come up more often. Rears on vehicles with an electronic parking brake need a scan tool to retract the caliper piston, which adds a step. Doing all four when only the fronts are worn is the single most common piece of unnecessary brake spending.
Pads only, or pads and rotors?
If the rotors are above the manufacturer's minimum thickness and running true, pads alone is the honest answer and it is meaningfully cheaper. We measure and show you rather than defaulting to the bigger job.
Why we publish this at all
Our technicians are salaried rather than commissioned, so nobody here earns more by selling you a larger job. Publishing the range is how we make that checkable instead of just claiming it.
