Suspension & Steering Repair

What to expect

Worn suspension does not just make the ride harsh — it lengthens your stopping distance and wears tyres unevenly. Clunks over bumps, a floaty or bouncy ride, and uneven tyre wear are the usual signs. We road test first, then inspect on the lift, and show you the play we found.

What the noises usually mean

A clunk over bumps often points at sway bar links or worn bushings — frequently one of the cheaper repairs on the car. A knock when turning at low speed can be a CV joint. A groan when turning suggests power steering. Continued bouncing after a bump points at shocks or struts.

Why it matters for stopping

A shock that no longer controls the spring lets the tyre lose contact with the road under braking. That is a safety issue, not a comfort one, and it does not show up until you need to stop hard.

Common questions

Do struts have to be replaced in pairs?

Generally yes, per axle. Replacing one side leaves the car with mismatched damping, which affects handling and braking balance.
