Kia Repair in Peachtree Corners

Kia shares its engines and much of its engineering with Hyundai, which means it shares the recall and warranty-extension history too. We check your VIN before we quote you, because sometimes the correct answer is that Kia owes you the repair.

The short version

What is actually different about servicing a Kia

The most valuable thing we can do on a Kia with an engine complaint is find out whether the manufacturer already covers it. A range of four-cylinder engines from the 2011 to 2019 period have been the subject of recalls, extended warranties and a knock-sensor software update. If your VIN comes back covered, we will tell you to go to the dealer even though it means we lose the job.

Where Kia is not covered, it is straightforward and affordable to service. The V6 in the Telluride, Sorento and Sedona is a durable engine. Direct injection across the range brings the usual intake valve carbon accumulation with mileage. The eight-speed automatics and the CVT-style transmissions in the smaller cars each have their own fluid requirements.

Modern Kias also carry a substantial amount of driver-assistance hardware. If a windscreen has been replaced or the car has had front-end work, the forward camera and radar may need recalibrating for those systems to work as designed.

Pattern recognition

What we see most on Kias

These are the specific things worth knowing about your make — not a generic checklist. If none of them describe your car, we will tell you that too.

Engine recalls and extended coverage

Several engines carry recalls or extended warranties. We run the VIN first — if it is covered, the dealer should be doing it, not us.

Carbon on direct-injection engines

Rough cold start and misfire codes on higher-mileage GDI engines, as carbon builds on intake valves that fuel never washes.

Transmission fluid specifics

The eight-speed automatics and the CVT-style units want their own fluids on their own intervals. Universal fluid is not appropriate for either.

Driver-assist calibration

After a windscreen replacement or front-end repair, the forward camera and radar may need recalibrating so lane keeping and emergency braking behave correctly.

How a visit works

Four steps, and you approve the third one

1. Tell us the symptom

Call, book online, or text us a photo of the dashboard. A real person answers during shop hours.

2. We find the cause

We diagnose the fault rather than reading a code and replacing the part it names.

3. You see it first

Photos and measurements of the actual problem, texted to you, with a price. Nothing proceeds until you say so.

4. We do the approved work

Only what you approved, torqued to specification, road tested, and covered by our written warranty.

No obligation

Not sure whether it is urgent? Send us a photo.

Snap a picture of the dashboard light, the leak, or the worn part and text it to us. A real person will text you back during shop hours — no phone call, no appointment, and we will tell you if it can wait.

Kia questions

Common questions from Kia owners

My Kia engine is knocking. Is it covered by the recall?

That is exactly what we check first. Run us your VIN and we will tell you whether your engine falls under a recall or extended coverage. If it does, the honest answer is the dealer, and we will say so.

Can I service my Kia here without losing the warranty?

Yes. Federal law protects that, provided the maintenance is done on schedule and to specification. We give you itemised documentation of every service so you have the record if it is ever questioned.

Do I need ADAS calibration after a windscreen replacement?

If your car has a forward-facing camera behind the glass, yes. Lane keeping and automatic emergency braking depend on the camera knowing exactly where it is pointing. Skipping it leaves safety systems quietly out of alignment.

Are Kia parts easy to get?

Generally yes, and the aftermarket has caught up substantially. That usually keeps estimates reasonable, and we will show you the parts grade options rather than defaulting to the dearest.
