Infiniti Repair in Peachtree Corners

Nissan's VQ V6 in a more expensive package. Infinitis are strong cars with a specific set of oil-related habits, and the transmission in some models needs a different conversation than the engine does.

The short version

What is actually different about servicing a Infiniti

The VQ family V6 is one of the better engines of its generation and it has a well-known relationship with oil. Valve cover gaskets weep, oil consumption creeps up with mileage, and on the higher-output variants the variable valve lift actuator is an expensive component that behaves badly when oil is dirty or low. The single best thing you can do for an Infiniti engine is change the oil more often than you think you need to.

The transmissions divide the range. The rear-wheel-drive models with conventional automatics are durable. The models fitted with a continuously variable transmission are a different proposition and want their specific fluid on a real interval, with a fluid the transmission is sensitive to by design.

AWD models add a transfer case and a rear differential with their own fluids, and those are among the most commonly skipped services on any Infiniti.

Pattern recognition

What we see most on Infinitis

These are the specific things worth knowing about your make — not a generic checklist. If none of them describe your car, we will tell you that too.

Oil consumption and valve cover leaks

The VQ V6 weeps from the valve covers and uses oil as it ages. Checking the level between changes is not paranoia on these — it is maintenance.

Variable valve lift actuator

On the higher-output V6, an expensive component that is sensitive to oil condition. Clean oil is genuinely preventive here.

CVT fluid on the CVT models

Model-specific fluid on a real interval. The transmission is designed around the fluid's friction properties, so this is not a place for a universal product.

AWD transfer case and differential fluids

Separate fluids, separate intervals, no dashboard reminder. Frequently skipped and cheap to do.

How a visit works

Four steps, and you approve the third one

1. Tell us the symptom

Call, book online, or text us a photo of the dashboard. A real person answers during shop hours.

2. We find the cause

We diagnose the fault rather than reading a code and replacing the part it names.

3. You see it first

Photos and measurements of the actual problem, texted to you, with a price. Nothing proceeds until you say so.

4. We do the approved work

Only what you approved, torqued to specification, road tested, and covered by our written warranty.

No obligation

Not sure whether it is urgent? Send us a photo.

Snap a picture of the dashboard light, the leak, or the worn part and text it to us. A real person will text you back during shop hours — no phone call, no appointment, and we will tell you if it can wait.

Infiniti questions

Common questions from Infiniti owners

How often should I change the oil in a VQ engine?

More often than the maximum interval suggests, particularly in Atlanta stop-and-go driving. These engines reward frequent changes and punish stretched ones, and the components that suffer first are the expensive ones.

Does my Infiniti have a CVT?

It depends on the model and year — some do, some use a conventional automatic. We will tell you which one is in your car and what it actually needs, because the maintenance conversation is completely different.

Is Infiniti service the same as Nissan service?

Mechanically there is a great deal of overlap, and that helps on parts pricing. The trim, electronics and some driveline hardware differ. We price from what your car actually has, not from the badge.

My Infiniti is using oil. Is that normal?

Some consumption is normal on these engines with age. A lot is not. Tell us how much you are adding and over what distance — that number is genuinely diagnostic and it tells us where to look.
